Once you walk in the restaurant, you feel like you are no longer in Japan at all. Cactus, sombreros, Mexican textiles welcome you to Mexico in Kobe. Casa de La-La is one of few restaurants you can enjoy real Mexican food in Kobe. They even bake handmade tortillas everyday! The restaurant was used to be known as “Tijuana”, the oldest Mexican restaurant in the city. Tijuana opened in 1970 in Kitano, Kobe. The restaurant was famous among foreigners who lived in the city. The restaurant was closed in 2008, then Casa d La-La opened April 2009 as almost like rebirth of Tijuana.
You can enjoy Mexican food, and alcohols as you listen to live Mexican music (on the weekend). The restaurant is capable for groups or alone. You can enjoy your time alone at the counter which is closer to the kitchen, or you can sit as a group at the tables.
They specialize in various kinds of tequilas from Mexico. If you like to try something you cannot get at regular stores, this is the place to go.
